  1. Okay, so this place is six miles up a winding mountain road—absolutely worth the trip! First, the views from the patio are spectacular. On a nice day, you can see from Foster City to the Almaden Valley and across to Hayward.

    The new winemaker (been there not quite a year) was in the tasting room—we had a nice conversation. Wines were good, zinfandel & cabernet sauvignon are their primary offerings; with a pinot grigio and rosé recently added to the lineup.

    We brought home a zin, and a solera-style desert wine.
