J. Lohr has been at this location for a very long time. I’ve been here a few times over the last 30 years. It’s on a side street. The building is pretty industrial-looking from the outside. They don’t actually make the wine here, this is a sales & distribution facility, with a nice tasting room.
My wine-tasting buddy, Robert, and I stopped in just after 1:00 on a Sunday. The place was empty-ish when we arrived, but filled up as we were there. Lots of groups sitting and chatting at tables, good energy.
The staff was friendly & knowledgeable. Several of them stopped at our table to see how we were doing and chat.
There was a choice of two flights: the legacy tasting ($60) and the seasonal tasting ($30). We chose the seasonal, which at the time was: pinot blanc, sauvignon blanc, gsm blend, mourvèdre, and syrah. I took home a bottle of the GSM.
