We been to Chuparosa several times over the past 4 years and have always enjoyed our experience. The tasting room is situated on a hillside overlooking their vineyard. There’s a small, but comfortable area inside by a stone fireplace, as well as a nice deck in front offering the wonderful views of the vineyards and surrounding hills. They even have a cave, however it’s not open to the public (at least as of our last visit).
WINES: Andy (owner/winemaker) poured for us and provides good service and nice insight on his wines and vineyard. One tasting fee is waived with one bottle purchase, as Andy’s motto is “We want to sell wines, not tastings”. Chuparosa offers mostly Italian, French, and some Spanish varietals (Albariño, Grenache Gris, Mourvèdre/Grenache Rosè, Sangiovese, Cab Franc, and Zinfandel) and in my opinion they’re all well-made, elegant wines, some of the best in the region.
