This was our first stop of our day in Los Olivos. I can’t say there was a lot of intentionality to the choice–the first shady parking space we found after we turned into town from the highway was right in front of the building. That being said, I am happy we stopped here.
The tasting room is in a turn-of-the-twentieth-century building that has been extensively remodeled and “made modern,” but lots of the original millwork was retained.
It was just about lunchtime on a very warm Saturday. Not many people in the tasting room when we were there. The woman staffing the tasting room was very gracious, and we met a nice couple who were up from L.A. for the day. We had a good time, and got a good recommendation for a lunch place.
I took home a bottle of “leave it to the birds,” their grenache/syrah blend. They were happy to hold it for me until the end of the day, so I wouldn’t have to carry it or leave it in my car.
