This place is like a whole shopping mall, just for tasting rooms. The building is large and impressive—I love that they found an adaptive re-use, rather than bulldozing the place and building something new. As you walk in the main doors, there is a large central gallery, with the doors to tasting rooms on either side. That’s the good news.
We dropped in on a Thursday, early afternoon and the place was like a ghost town. We only saw 3 of the tasting rooms open, and maybe a dozen patrons. We were told it’s much busier on the weekends.
On the front door is a prominent sign saying “No outside food.” But there is no inside food either! The two tasting room we visited had refrigerator cases with charcuterie, cheese & crackers for sale–but that’s not enough food for a full day of tasting. This place needs a restaurant. We were told that there are food trucks on the weekend–but you can’t bring that food into the mall either–you have to stand in the parking lot to eat it.
We enjoyed our tastings at the two places we visited, and will comment on them separately, but the facility could benefit from a rethink of their amenities.
