Missouri wineries are scattered throughout the state with dozens of wineries located near the metropolitan areas of Springfield, St. Louis, and Kansas City. Missouri wineries are known for placing a heavy emphasis on history and tradition and continue to pay as much, or more, attention to native American and French-American hybrids as they do to vitis vinifera varieties. Missouri is known for its success with Norton as well as Chambourcin, Chardonnel, and Seyval Blanc.
